Helping the Hurricane Victims

There are many ways we can collectively help the hurricane victims.

With the recent devastation from Hurricane Harvey in Texas, and with Hurricane Irma promising catastrophic outcomes in Florida, I can’t stop thinking about all of the people who have suffered tragedy.

Hurricane Flooding in Texas

Families have lost their homes, precious lives have been lost, and family pets have been displaced…the list of all the heartache is hard to fathom. The stories of Harvey’s fury are devastating, and I keep asking myself, “What will these people do with no home to go to? How will they cope?”

I have many friends and family in Texas that were impacted by this tragedy. I also have many friends and family in Florida who will soon be impacted—including my dad.

How we can make a difference.

In hopes that we can collectively make a difference, I have compiled a list of charities that are helping hurricane victims. A lot of people need assistance right now, and I hope each of you consider giving to help those who have been crushed by Mother Nature.

The list below includes reputable charities that are helping victims, as well as charities that are supporting animals. The shelters are desperate for assistance too.

The American Red Cross

The Salvation Army

Boys and Girls Club of America

The Humane Society of the United States

Thank you for putting this together. My Texas is still dealing with the effects of Harvey and I pray for the ones in Irma’s path. Have a blessed one!
