Marinated Slaw
Marinated slaw is a sweet, vinegar-based slaw recipe with thinly sliced cabbage, peppers, and onions. It's the perfect side dish for a barbecue or fish fry.
- 2 small heads of cabbage, thinly sliced
- 2 green bell peppers, thinly sliced
- 1 white or yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp salt
- 1 tbsp mustard seed
- 1 tbsp celery seed
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1/2 tsp dry mustard
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 cups apple cider vinegar
Put thinly sliced veggies in a large container with a lid.
Combine rest of ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil.
Pour boiled vinegar mixture on top of sliced veggies and let cool, stirring often.
Place lid on container and store in the refrigerator for several weeks, stirring every day.
