Marinated Slaw
Marinated slaw is a sweet, vinegar-based slaw recipe with thinly sliced cabbage, peppers, and onions. It's the perfect side dish for a barbecue or fish fry.
2 small heads of cabbage, thinly sliced 2 green bell peppers, thinly sliced 1 white or yellow onion, thinly sliced 1 tbsp salt 1 tbsp mustard seed 1 tbsp celery seed 1/2 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp dry mustard 2 1/2 cups sugar 2 cups apple cider vinegar
Put thinly sliced veggies in a large container with a lid.
Combine rest of ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil.
Pour boiled vinegar mixture on top of sliced veggies and let cool, stirring often.
Place lid on container and store in the refrigerator for several weeks, stirring every day.
