Mother’s Day is the one special day of the year we all celebrate Mom and the important women in our lives. It’s our chance to show them how much we love them, respect them, and appreciate the sacrifices they’ve made for us.

Choosing the Right Tableware

When setting your dining table, there are many options for your Mother’s Day Table Décor Ideas. Your custom table setting really depends on your budget and making sure it’s the perfect way to make mom smile for this special occasion.

When I host a get-together, I love to use silver flatware and china or nice dishes for each of the place settings. I have collected most of my tableware from estate sales, yard sales, and Facebook Marketplace and they are typically very inexpensive. I’ve shared some of the things I’ve collected in my polished silverware post and my hidden treasures post.

If you don’t have china or silver flatware that would fit your theme, don’t be afraid to buy paper plates. In my Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape post, I used paper plates and disposable charger plates that I found at Home Goods. Using disposable tableware is a great way to save money because it’s inexpensive. It’s also a time-saver when cleaning up.

I also wanted to incorporate cloth napkins and crystal stemware into my beautiful table setting. Cloth napkins add detail to your table and give it an extra touch to show Mom how much you care. The crystal stemware is perfect for making a toast to our special guest of honor.

Creating a Floral Centerpiece for Your Mother’s Day Tale Decor Ideas

Whether you choose fancy dishes or paper plates, pick a theme that mom will love for your Mother’s Day Table Décor Ideas. I chose a simple china pattern that I could easily find fresh flowers to match. Regardless of my color scheme, I had to include daisies because they are my mom’s favorite flowers.

My centerpiece was so easy to put together and very inexpensive. I picked up a large bouquet of flowers from Sam’s Club for about $16. If you can’t find inexpensive fresh flowers, faux flowers will also work and you can reuse them later.

I have various vintage crystal and cut-glass dishes as well as candlestick holders that I have picked up from estate sales and yard sales. I was able to cut the flowers and place them in the various glass containers. If you don’t have various flower vases or glass containers, mason jars work perfectly and are an inexpensive way to display your floral arrangements.

Start with a table runner down the center of your dining room table to place your beautiful centerpieces. I love using a rustic burlap table runner because they are inexpensive and go with just about any table décor. I had the eucalyptus and beeswax candles from my Pumpkin Tablescape and they added the perfect touch.

Free Printable for your Mother’s Day Table Décor Ideas

Adding a loving personal touch to your gorgeous tablescapes is a creative way to show Mom she deserves the best. I created these free printable tags to place on each plate that have words to describe mom and the special women in your life.

My tags are printed on pink paper to match the flowers on the plates and the flowers throughout the centerpiece. I then added a burlap-wired ribbon to match the burlap table runner. I wanted to keep the same color palette throughout my table décor while incorporating my mom’s favorite color which is pink. The subtle pink and bright colors of pink make the perfect combination.

Ideas to Incorporate into Your Gorgeous Tablescape

Here are some other ways you can add a personal touch to your Mother’s Day Table Decorations:

  • Use printed family photos to incorporate with the décor, maybe tuck them into the flower arrangements.
  • Print place cards with a photo of Mom and the person who will be sitting there.
  • Cook mom’s favorite foods and print a take-home menu.
  • Handwrite a special note for Mom and place it where she will sit.
  • Create small hand-made gifts for each place setting.

Here are some ways to enjoy your Mother’s Day Tablescape:

  • Create a Mother’s Day brunch table.
  • Enjoy a tea party with Mom.
  • Set up your table outside for an outdoor brunch.
