Father’s Day is the one special day of the year we celebrate Dad and the important men in our lives. It’s our chance to show how much we love, respect, and appreciate them and the sacrifices they’ve made for us.

Choosing the Right Tableware for this Special Occasion

There are so many options for tableware when setting your dining table. Your custom table settings depend on your budget and what you think is the perfect way to celebrate Dad on this special day.

When I host a get-together, I love using silver flatware and china or nice dishes for each of the place settings. I have collected most of my tableware from estate sales, yard sales, and Facebook Marketplace, and they are typically very inexpensive. I’ve shared some of the things I’ve collected in my polished silverware post and my hidden treasures post.

If you don’t have china or silver flatware to fit your theme, don’t be afraid to buy paper plates. In my Simple Thanksgiving Tablescape post, I use paper plates and disposable charger plates that I found at Home Goods. Using disposable tableware is a great idea to save money because it’s inexpensive. It’s also a time-saver when cleaning up.

I wanted to incorporate cloth napkins into my beautiful table setting. Cloth napkins add detail to your table and give it an extra touch to show Dad how much you care. These denim cloth napkins by Atelier Saucier add the perfect masculine feel to these Father’s Day Table Decorations.

Creating a Masculine Centerpiece for Your Dinner Table

Whether you choose fancy dishes or paper plates, pick a theme that Dad will love for your Father’s Day Table Decorations. I picked a simple china pattern of white porcelain plates with blue flowers for the place settings. These dishes give the table a masculine look while still being elegant. I added fresh flowers and candles because I wanted to keep it simple.

My Father’s Day Centerpiece was easy and inexpensive to put together. To place your beautiful centerpieces, start with a table runner down the center of your dining room table. I love using a rustic burlap table runner because it’s inexpensive and goes with just about any table décor. However, table runners of any type or color will work because it is an anchor where you can place your décor.

I picked up a large bouquet of flowers from our local Farmer’s Market and then placed them in mason jars. I added burlap ribbons around the mouth of the jars to match the burlap table runner. If you can’t find inexpensive fresh flowers, faux flowers will also work, and you can reuse them later.

I have various vintage crystal and cut-glass candlestick holders that I have picked up from estate sales and yard sales. To match the dishes, I added various colors of blue candlesticks to the candle holders. I used beeswax candles because I feel like the color and texture add a subtle hint of masculinity.

No matter how fancy or casual you make your Father’s Day table setting, it’s sure to garner Dad’s appreciation.

Free Printable for Your Father’s Day Table Decorations

Adding a loving personal touch to your gorgeous tablescape is a creative way to show Dad he deserves the very best. I created these free printable tags to place on each plate with words to describe Dad and the special men in your life. Adding these printable tags to the dinner plates is a great way to celebrate Dad’s Day and spotlight all your favorite things about him.

My tags are printed on white paper, and I added a burlap-wired ribbon to match the burlap table runner. My goal was to keep the same color palette throughout my table décor while incorporating elegance and masculinity.

Ideas to Incorporate for an Incredible Father’s Day Tablescape

Here are some other ways you can add a personal touch to your Father’s Day Decorations:

  • Use printed family photos to incorporate with the décor and tuck them into the flower arrangements.
  • Print place cards with a photo of Dad and the person who will be sitting there.
  • For a delicious meal, cook Dad’s favorite things to eat and print a Father’s Day dinner menu for him to take home.
  • Handwrite a special note for Dad, letting him know why he is the best dad, and place it where he will sit.
  • Create small hand-made gifts for each place setting to incorporate into your Father’s Day Table Decorations.

Here are some ways to enjoy your Father’s Day Celebration:

  • Set up a cocktail bar for your Father’s Day Celebration.
  • Set up your table outside for an outdoor dining experience.
  • A fun way to celebrate Dad is to set up a photo booth. Make a DIY frame from foam board and include photo booth props that are centered around your Dad and his favorite things.
  • Plan some fun DIY projects for the whole family to make and spend quality time together.
