The Perfect Summer Dress

This adorable summer dress by Banana Republic is so fun and flirty it feels like a must-have for summer.

I love an excuse to wear a fun summer dress, especially for date night with my husband. This dress…oh, this dress…is a perfect choice. But don’t worry, it is also perfect for a girl’s night out, a wedding or maybe a fun party!

HOW I FOUND THE DRESS

To be honest, the color is really out of my comfort zone, but I was so drawn to it. For some reason, I kept circling back around to this gorgeous summer dress while looking in the store. As I continued to browse, trying to decide if I should try it on, I saw the shoes and the clutch.  At that point, I felt like it was meant to be.

The shoes are the exact same shade as the dress, and made of suede. The clutch is faux-leather with an adorable scalloped edge. Although the clutch can only be found in stores, they do have a similar one online that would look amazing with the dress.

TRYING ON THE DRESS

Then, I tried it on. Oh my, I couldn’t believe how chic it made me feel–I knew that moment this was the perfect summer dress. The fabric is so soft and does not cling. It is a shift dress, but is tapered just enough in the waist to show curves. It also has bell sleeves that seem to work with this dress. Again, it isn’t really something I would have envisioned myself wearing, but I am so glad I gave it a try!

THE SALE

The best part of all, the dress and shoes were 40% off, and the clutch was already on sale with an additional 50% off. I love, love a good bargain!

Banana Republic has to be one of my favorite places to shop. If you look in my closet, you will see that a lot of my clothes come from there. They frequently offer 40% off full-price styles, which is such a great deal for such well-made clothes. Their clothes are stylish, classic and the fabrics usually wear very well.

If you come across something that you think is out of your comfort zone, don’t be afraid to give it a chance, because you might be happily surprised!
